Poland and Warsaw

POLAND

Welcome to Poland, a dynamic country right at the heart of Europe!

Poland is a vibrant, democratic and market orientated state, being a member of NATO since 1999 and the European Union since 2004. In terms of size and population, Poland is the sixth biggest place in the European Union. The geographical landscape is highly varied, and includes a beautiful seaside area in the north, majestic mountains in the south, and picturesque lakes and forests in the middle of the country.

Poland is one of the few places where you can see four real seasons! In Poland, the weather conditions are widely varied with four, approximately three-month seasons: a warm spring, hot summer, mild autumn and sometimes very frosty winter. Indeed, temperatures may range from + 30 degrees Celsius in the summer to – 15 degrees Celsius in the winter, although the last two winters have been very mild.

Poland successfully balances its own rich traditions with the demands of modern life! In other words, people coming to Poland may benefit from all the advantages of living in big, modern cities, which include easy access to culture, education and a fast-developing business environment.  Besides this, people can relax outdoors, enjoy beautiful countryside, and discover historical places such as castles, important monuments and old town districts.

WARSAW

Welcome to Warsaw, the living capital city of Poland!

Warsaw is located in the centre of Poland on the banks of the river Vistula, and this makes it the perfect base for visiting other wonderful, polish cities, such as Kraków, Gdańsk, Toruń, Wrocław, and Poznań. Besides this, Poland is a great starting point for tourist trips, for example, a weekend skiing or hiking in the Tatra Mountains or a visit to the beaches of the Baltic Sea.

Warsaw is the centre of business, political and educational life in Poland, containing both a booming economy and large workforce.  People from all over Poland, as well as from abroad, come to study in Warsaw. Indeed, out of Warsaw´s two million inhabitants, 300.000 are students, and, each year, more and more foreign students are deciding to study in Poland, especially in Warsaw. Why are foreign students making this choice? Well, Polish educational standards are very high, while the cost of higher education is competitive when compared with other European Union countries.

Through the presence of many foreign students and immigrants, as well as tourists, Warsaw is the most cosmopolitan city in Poland. As far as cultural life goes, there is something for everyone in Warsaw! Indeed, there are many film, theatre and music festivals, as well as concerts and open political debates.
