The curriculum consists of two integrated parts. One covers Philological subjects such as practical language learning, literature, history, the life and institutions of English-speaking or Russian-speaking countries, an introduction to language communication, an introduction to linguistics (including elements of psycho- and sociolinguistics), and descriptive and contrastive grammar. Another part contains professional subjects related to one of the specialisations. Intensive language training during the practical language classes enables students to attain a high level of general language proficiency, but also gives them a good command of specialist language in the areas of business, economics and management.
