The Romuald Kudlinski OLYMPUS University was established in 1995 as one of the first private education institutions in Poland with two goals in mind. The first was to create the conditions necessary for educating economists well-versed in modern economics, taking into consideration the changes occurring through globalisation and the IT revolution. The second was to build a team of academics capable of facing the challenges resulting from system transformation, as well as the integration and globalisation processes. All this was designed to take into consideration not only the changing economic and technical conditions, but also the social and cultural ones. In other words, the goal of OLYMPUS has been to teach economic processes in relation to other social sciences at a higher educational level, through presenting economics from an interdisciplinary point of view. Hence, one of the most important didactic tasks has been to consider the changing market demand for our graduates, which has involved a constant supplementing of the curriculum with new specialist subjects and to enrich the teaching process with new research methods applied in modern economics.
A good example of this interdisciplinary approach is the establishment of the Department of English and Russian Language Philology, which also offers Management and Philology Studies.
The main fundamental task of the School is to educate graduates equipped with modern knowledge, but who also need to constantly update their expertise through all that is offered by the world of academia. This explains why we have chosen Romuald Kudliński as out patron. He was not only an outstanding economist and great enthusiast of private colleges, but also fully understood the changing world and the ensuing challenges. This message has always been the guiding principle of our School.
